This delightfully low slung colonial-style hotel enjoys a spectacular waterside location ringed by uninhabited islands and the dramatic Golden Ball Reef. Set in its own manicured gardens and private beach with a seasonal sailing school, the hotel overlooks Old Grimsby Sound and the Cromwellian fort known as `The Blockhouse`.

All rooms are brightly furnished and many benefit from lounge areas, balconies or terraces. The spacious, comfortable lounges, airy restaurant and bar area enjoy stunning seascapes.

Activities include tennis court, croquet lawn, heated pool, kite flying, shrimping or fishing and even an `Age of Sail` experience on the hotel`s very own locally built 36ft Gaff Cutter.

Carefully prepared imaginative cuisine makes an excellent showcase for locally caught fish, island vegetables and Tresco reared beef.
