Dating from 1345 which makes it one of England’s oldest hostelries, the half-timbered Star Inn was fully refurbished in 1998 and is in Alfriston’s centre - ideal for the South Down’s Trail, opera at Glyndebourne or the Newhaven-Dieppe ferry. Facilities include a restaurant for traditional meals and a bar serving snacks. Local activities include golf and horseriding.
