The White Hart has stood in the Market Square of Moretonhampstead for over three and a half centuries. Formally a Georgian posting house, the Plymouth to London mail coaches changed horses here. During the Napoleonic Wars it was a meeting place for French Officers on parole from Dartmoor Prison. Moretonhampstead is a favourite for walkers, golfers and cyclists all year round who enjoy the fabulous surroundings that Dartmoor National park has to offer. The hotel enjoys easy access to Torquay, Plymouth, Exeter and the A30 to Cornwall.
The White Hart is an atmospheric venue for functions, a delicious meal or relaxing in the bar. The Hotel offers tastefully decorated Bed and Breakfast accommodation. All our bedrooms have been decorated to retain their original charm, offering en-suite facilities, flat screen TV’s, CD players and tea and coffee making facilities.
