Deep in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors, unspoilt by mankind, The Blacksmiths Country Inn offers a blend of friendliness, charm and uncompromising quality. Standing alone on a ridge top overlooking the rugged grandeur of moorland and the beauty of Cropton Forest, the building dates back to the 16th century, rising from stone rescued from the nearby ruins of Rosedale Abbey. Today, seamless joints and careful rebuilding have melted the original farmhouse and cottages into this delightful country inn. The original roadside buildings, once a barn and a public bar and a range-fired kitchen, now form the main bar area where you can sit in comfort in front of an open fire and admire the views of the moor land as far as the eye can see.
