Dating from the 17th century, Edgcott house is a rambling country home of great character. It overlooks a lovely secluded garden set amidst beautiful Exmoor countryside. Edgcott doesn`t pretend to offer much... just the ambience of a lovely old home - a sheltered, sunlit garden, wooded grounds and green pastures, a lazy little lake and an ever- tumbling brook and an opportunity to explore the ancient Royal Forest of Exmoor, the Brendon Hills and majestic cliffs along the coastline of the Bristol Channel - on foot, cycle, horseback or even motor car, or perhaps by the old steam railway, or hide away the car keys, cycle clips, reins or walking boots - and take up the invitation to just switch off, with book or pen, brush or just nothing - in Edgcott - sun, shade or fireside warmth, and enjoy a real west country clotted cream treat.
