A well kept secret to many, the Forest of Bowland is both a delight and a pleasure with its rolling pastures, working farmland and dense forestry – designated “an area of outstanding natural beauty” it certainly lives up to its classification. Created in 1982 by resident proprietor Janet Simpson and her late mother Margaret, the hotel buildings combine traditional rural architecture with interesting Gothic masonry rescued from a dismantled local church to create a distinctive and unique atmosphere. Our 29 spacious and split-level suites offer superb accommodation. They are furnished with charm and character with your comfort in mind. Many suites are complete with whirlpool baths, four-poster, half tester or Gothic beds. The restaurant has a reputation for complementing the quality and individuality of each dish by utilising local fresh produce and vegetables, fruits and herbs from the extensive kitchen gardens. Enjoy dining at its very best in our outstanding restaurant and conservatory which overlooks beautiful gardens. Eat alfresco style under covered terrace with the unique atmosphere of candlelight or dine privately in warmth and opulence with elegant surroundings. 23 acres of award winning gardens complete with a splendid Garden Bandstand and magnificent countryside provide you with the perfect setting celebrate your marriage.
