The Priory is a Hotel of great quality and character set in secluded grounds in the historic town of Caerleon on the River Usk. The grand handsome buliding, which dates back to 1180, was originally a monastary and later became a nunnery.
Many of the best features from the fourteenth century have been preserved, including the ancient flagstones and the very rare sixteenth century glass medallions which surround the nun`s court.
A wonderful selection of daily fresh fish, seafood, meat and game are displayed in the main restaurant, complimented by a vast cellar of wines, champagnes and ports, served from The Priory`s spectacular Oak Bar.
