The Cotswolds `best kept secret`, `What enchantment is held by confinement in these steep wolds`.

The valleys of Painswick are sheer poetry, out of which the village of Painswick, where medieval cottages lie hugger mugger with fine Seventeenth, Eighteenth and Nineteenth century merchants and miller`s houses, rises majestically to be accorded the title, `The Queen of the Cotswolds`.

In the centre of the village lies The Painswick Hotel, once the home of wealthy rectors from the village. The house is in the Palladian style, built mainly in 1790, and now converted to a delightful, privately owned Country House Hotel. Ratings/Awards:ETB Highly Commended Silver Award
