The Who`d a Thought It was built during the reign of Henry VIII in the year 1545. It was originally a Thatched Farm Dwelling, forming part of a considerable farm estate. In 1740 it became a registered Ale House. In 1780 a fierce battle took place in nearby Lenham Heath between His Majesty`s Dragoons and twenty Smugglers, concealing their true identity the Smugglers rested for the night at the Who`d A Thought It. When the innkeeper discovered this he never again opened his doors to strangers. Today the Who`d A Thought It is a very individual and quite unique Sixteenth Century Champagne and Oyster House offering Luxury accommodation and a fine dining Restaurant, with picturesque gardens. It is set in the heart of the Kent Countryside, close to many interesting and alluring sites. The perfect setting for a relaxing sojourn.
