Few hotels in the west of Scotland have such a long and distinguished history as the Argyll Hotel. Designed in 1750 by the famous Scottish builder John Adam, the Argyll was the one the first buildings completed during the total redesign and building of Inveraray, commissioned by the 3rd Duke of Argyll. The Argyll was originally built as a coaching inn, to accommodate guests to court.

The interior of the Argyll reflects upon this impressive history, and the elegant style of its renowned creator. The Argyll offers standards of hospitality and service which more than live up to its illustrious past. Completely modernized and refurbished, the Argyll is now one of the premier hotels on the west coast of Scotland, offering excellent accommodation and AA rosette award winning cuisine.

Recent additions to the Argyll include the extension and refurbishment of our conference and banqueting facilities, a new conservatory which boasts stunning views over Loch Fyne, and the addition of four executive class rooms, built to four star specification.

The Argyll is ideally located for local sightseeing or as a base for touring Argyll and the islands.

The Argyll is the perfect destination for golf breaks, bird watching and walking, or for a relaxing break in the peace and quiet of the Argyll countryside.

Whether you are visiting for business or pleasure, we are sure we can offer you a memorable stay.

We look forward to welcoming you.
