When the Victorians sought a stunning location to build a gracious chateau home on the island of Jersey they discovered the wonderful wooded valley of Rozel. Today that splendid house, Chateau la Chaire, with spacious, beautifully proportioned rooms, is recognised by both the AA and RAC as one of the finest small hotels in the British Isles. The AA include the Chateau in their `Top 200 Hotels` while the RAC has awarded the hotel their coveted Gold Ribbon. Two AA Rosettes and three RAC Dining Awards acknowledge the food and service. The stillness, tinkling stream, spectacular cliff-top walks and soon to be restored unique gardens, are features to both covet and treasure., The cool green valley stretches down through winding paths to the colourful working fishing village of Rozel and the shoreline with its delightful beach and cove.
