The ancient home of the Smith family, set on an estate of 2,000 acres in the heart of Aberdeenshire. Theo Smith will act as your host. The family paintings and antiques in the reception rooms and bedrooms serve to retain the atmosphere of a country house rather than a hotel.

Enjoy a memorable meal from a Taste of Scotland menu in the historic dining room. Specialities are game, smoked and fresh fish and Aberdeen Angus beef. Vegetables and herbs are grown in the walled garden. Choose a fine wine from a list of over 200. In the drawing room or library, you can relax with one of more than 150 malt whiskies from the bar.

The hotel provides clay pigeon shooting, table tennis, billiards and croquet. A selection of trout, sea trout and salmon fishing is available on the Don, Dee and Deveron. There`s also stalking, plus driven, walked-up and rough shooting. Many fine golf courses are nearby. Pony trekking, clay pidgeon shooting, quad bikes and off road driving are available on the estate.
