Taychreggan ...a romantic country house hotel embodying the true secret of Highland hospitality.

Magnificently positioned on its own bay on pretty Loch Awe, Taychreggan is small, tastefully appointed 300 year old inn where guests can enjoy peace, serenity and award-winning cuisine.

Set in the heart of Argyll, close to Oban and the gateway to the Western Isles of Mull and Iona, the former drover`s inn makes a good touring base from which to explore the history and beauty of the Scottish Highlands.

For 300 years Taychreggan has jealously guarded its prime setting. It stands alone on an impressive inlet looking down the length of Scotland`s longest and, some say, prettiest inland loch. The historic house is beautifully situated in its own 40 acres of garden and natural woodland. Explore our water`s edge and discover seven tiny secluded beaches. Climb our hill for fine views of mighty Ben Cruachan.

Surrounded by mountain grandeur and abundant wildlife, it is wonderful to discover that all this is matched by superb two rosette cuisine, a fine wine list and a shamefully large selection of single malt whiskies. With Scotland so renowned for its friendliness and hospitality it seemed only fitting that Taychreggan, always upholding this tradition, should go that little bit further.
